Tips for a Fuel Efficient Vehicle

When looking at the engine, it is a good idea to look at things like the fuel injection. It is also a good idea to look at the camshafts. Outside of the engine, it is also a good idea to pay attention to the suspension that the vehicle has. These different factors can help your vehicle to get the best possible performance at any given time. Besides inspecting the parts, you can also bring the vehicle in and we can inspect the parts for you. If there is an issue, it can be repaired quickly to avoid further damage to the vehicle when you drive.   The amount of fuel that is injected into the engine will make a difference in how much energy is being exerted on the flywheel. This is a great way to make sure that the power being produced in the cylinders will go through the rods to get to the rest of the engine and allow the vehicle to get the maximum possible performance. Make sure that the fuel injection is allowing you to get the most possible fuel into your system as possible so that you will have the ability to step on the gas and take off when or if you need to.   One of the important ways that you can make sure that the fuel is being burned properly is through the use of better operating camshafts. These are the chambers in which the fuel is burned. It is important to make sure that these are wide enough and that the fuel has the ability to get inside as much as you want it to. The more fuel that can get in, the easier it will be able to burn it. We can also inspect your vehicle to ensure everything is running properly as you drive this summer.

Ways to Improve Fuel Efficiency

There are several things you should inspect on your vehicle. By doing so, you can help improve the fuel efficiency as you drive. If you are not sure how often to bring your vehicle in, make sure to contact us and we can advise you how often the vehicle should be brought in. By changing a few driving habits, you can be changing the gas mileage you get.   You can help improve the fuel efficiency of your vehicle by simply changing a few driving habits. The most effective change is to accelerate slowly and to brake over a longer distance. Speeding, braking, and rapid acceleration all lead to wasting gas. You should also use cruise control when acceptable. This helps keep driving speeds at a steady and constant moderate pace. If you try to anticipate stoplights and signs, you will get better gas mileage. It is also important to slow down when driving. Gas mileage decreases once you go above 60 miles per hour.   By keeping your vehicle maintained properly, you can also help with fuel efficiency of it. Having it in for a regularly scheduled maintenance check up will help ensure your vehicle is running the best it can. Be sure to check the tire pressure of your vehicle and by keeping your tires properly inflated it can improve your gas mileage by up to 3.3 percent. Properly inflated tires are safer and last longer. Also checking the alignment of your wheels is important as well. Uneven tire wear can lower gas mileage and the tires will wear out more quickly.   Also lighten your load when you travel and carry with you only the necessities. For every extra 250 pounds that you haul, the car loses about one mile per gallon in fuel. Also reducing anything that causes drag with your vehicle, such as luggage racks and bike racks will help you get better mileage. When you are done filling your vehicle, make sure your gas cap is on tight. Improperly sealed gas caps will let fuel vaporize and lower your fuel efficiency. If you ever notice the fuel efficiency is poor, make sure to bring it in as soon as possible so we can inspect it for you.

Save Money on Fuel

Saving money is always good, but did you know that changing just a few of your driving habits can help reduce the chance of spending money on fuel? Since fuel is necessary in order for your vehicle to run, it makes sense to try and save as much money as you can each time you fill up at the pumps. It is also important to make sure you have enough fuel in the vehicle to make it to your destination. In the winter it is recommended to keep the fuel tank at least half full. This is beneficial for if poor weather happens when you are on the road. One of the most important things you can do is to make sure to go to regular maintenances. This can help have parts and components of the vehicle inspected to ensure they are working effectively. By going to maintenances, issues with the parts can be identified. This can help to improve the longevity of the parts and vehicle as well. If there is an issue, we can help to advise you on what the options are to fix it. Also make sure to inspect the tires on a regular basis. By making sure the tires are at the correct air pressure, the fuel efficiency can be improved by as much as three percent. While filling up your vehicle, make sure to inspect the gas cap. If it is missing or damaged, it can allow for gas to vaporize into the air.   Another way to help improve the fuel efficiency of the vehicle is to accelerate slowly, and come to a stop slowly. When you accelerate slowly, it can decrease the chance of fuel being wasted. This can also help to avoid unnecessary wear and tear to parts of the vehicle. By slowly coming to a stop, you can help to avoid damage to the brake lines. When you drive, look ahead on the road. This can help to alert you to the amount of traffic ahead and you can anticipate stops that are in the road. It can then allow you to reduce your speed by coasting, rather than slamming on the brakes. If you ever notice anything out of the norm with your vehicle, make sure to bring it in so we can inspect the parts and componenets for you.

Why Low Air Pressure can Affect the Tires

Keeping your vehicle in the best condition possible is important. There are several parts and components that you should inspect on a regular basis. This will help keep the vehicle running at top efficiency and performance levels. One part of the car that is often overlooked is each tire. This also includes the spare tire. The tires should be checked for how the tread is wearing, the air pressure, and the overall condition of them. By having the tires properly inspected, you can ensure they will rotate properly and be reliable for your vehicle. If you are not sure about the condition of your tires, make sure to contact us for an appointment. We can inspect the vehicle and the tires so they are in great condition. If there is an issue with the tires, we can advise you on the options you have. If the tires have low air pressure, the affects on the vehicle can decrease the safety, as well as resulting in a costly repair bill.   Improving the Mileage on your Vehicle   People tend to keep their tires at about eighty percent of the recommended pressure. If the tires are inflated properly and to the correct amount, it can help to save you money at the pumps as well. Properly inflated tires not only increase your miles per gallon over time, but they will also provide for better performance and handling of your vehicle. This is because the vehicle will not use the power and energy to rotate the tires as if they were under inflated. Tires that are under inflated tend to take more energy and gasoline to move. By having the tires inspected, you can save money, as well as having a comfortable ride.   Properly Inflated Tires can Improve the Stopping   Another reason to check the inflation of the tires is to increase the safety when you stop. Tires that are under inflated will take longer to stop. This is especially true if the pavement or road you are driving on is wet. It can also increase the chance of a rollover if the tires on your SUV are under inflated. Under inflated tires will skid more readily on both ice and wet pavements. They also will skid further on pavements or roads that are dry. If you notice the vehicle does not respond quickly when you stop, make sure to bring the vehicle in so we can inspect the tires and even the brake system of the vehicle.   Improving the Emissions of your Vehicle   Since under inflated tires take more energy to get the vehicle into full motion, more exhaust fumes are created and released. In addition to these exhaust fumes, the tires will wear out more quickly than they typically should. You will also need to replace the tires more often than what is recommended. Over time, this will create a larger expense because you will have to buy tires more often for your vehicle. Make sure to bring your vehicle in at any sign of an issue. This will help you provide a safe and reliable ride when you travel.
